I studied with guitarist Mike Elliot, from Minneapolis, Minnesota and Roy Plum, from Madison WI, both accomplished Jazz musicians. I joined the group nearly 27 years ago, but I'm not sure that is public information; makes me feel too old.  I have always been interested in the technical aspects of music, can generally out program any keyboardist on their own gear or setup any of the gear related to putting on a show. I love to record and as many musicians, am courageously trying to find time to record some of those tunes that were put on the back burner.  Through The Eddie Butts Band I've had the pleasure, and learning experience, of performing with many of the areas top musicians as well as open for numerous national acts. I'm currently training my five year old son, Cole, to take over playing drums for the band, once Eddie's knees go out. Eddie has already inspired this young lad tremendously and he now attends all rehearsals.
